FIRENZE MUSEUMS OPENING TIME FOR THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS

Christmas holidays are coming and some of the most important museums and churches of Florence have a different opening time.

For all the other days not mentioned below, the museums operate according to their usual opening and closing time.

Uffizi Gallery / Accademia Gallery / Pitti Palace / Boboli Gardens

- Tuesday, December 24th - open from 8:15am to 1:50pm
- Wednesday, December 25th - closed
- Thursday, December 26th - open from 8:15am to 6:50pm
- Monday, December 30th - closed
- Tuesday, December 31st - open from 8:15am to 6:00p,
- Wednesday, January 1st - closed

Probably this will be the last german market in Santa Croce square.

In Florence the temperatures are very low this days, so what a better opportunity to escape the ice tasting a mulled wine, sausages, bretzel or simply buying a christmas present in the picturesque square until December 23rd, 2013??

As the Councillor for Culture of the city of Florence and the organizers said: the market will be moved elswhere (but still dont know where - maybe Santa Maria Novella square).

Until January 6th, 2013 you can go and see the Nativity Scene builded up in front of the Duomo square. As you can see the crib is still empty because #Jesus was born the night between the 24th and 25th December so he will appear there only during that night.

F-LIGHT FESTIVAL IN SANTO SPIRITO

Started on December 13th, 2012 and until December 31st, 2012 the facade of the Santo Spirito church will be lighted by some marvelous 3D video projection by Mario Mariotti remembering the legerndary night of 1980.

FOUR SEASONS FIRENZE FOR CHARITY

Finally the privately held Giardino della Gherardesca opens its doors for charity on Sunday, December 16th, 2012. 

Go and visit it at the Four Seasons Firenze in Borgo Pinti 99.

All the money collected will be donated to the Istituto degli Innocenti which everyday takes care of children.

There will be activities for kids and adults such as games and food markets and souvenirs and of course a lot of Santa Claus with gifts.

Don't miss this open day to rise funds for charity. What you have to do is to offer some money (starting from €1) and have fun !!!

Before you reach the place you can feel the smell of the typical german frankfurter sausages and sauerkraut, the pork knaukle and the italian porchetta...in the nearby streets.

The new opening blue room @ the Uffizi Gallery - Florence, Italy

The Uffizi and the Accademia will be colosed sunday for Christams but opend on monday, 26 from 8.15am to 6.50pm.
Extraordinary opening for the Medici Chapels monday, 26 from 8.15am to 4.50pm.
Will be open the Palazzo Vecchio museum from 9am until midnight.
The Duomo Cathedral will be open monday 1.30pm to 4.45pm and the Tower of Giotto opend from 8.30am to 7.30pm.
