The Odeon Cinema is built in 1462, and is situated in Palazzo Strozzino considered one of the most interesing example of Renaissance architechture. Palazzo Strozzino was renovated at the begining of the 20th century by the architect Piacentini who transformed the back and the courtyard into an elegant art nouveau cinema-theatre which was opened in 1922. To this day the Odeon retains the original sculptures, tapestries and the wonderful period stained glass cupola. Over the years some of the most glamorous names in show business have appeared in this jewel in the heart of Florence, musicians such as Louis Armstrong and Anjelica Huston, and directors such as Isabelle Bertolucci, Branagh, Salvatores, Benigni, Verdone and many others.
This august Odeon Cinema is open all days and hosted the event August at the Odeon with a lot of europeans and italians films.
